Desalto grew out of ORMA, a metalwork workshop the Orsenigo family opened in Brianza in 1963 to make classic metal furniture. From 1990 the four Orsenigo brothers turned it towards contemporary design, and metal is still at its heart. Based in Cantù, Desalto has had Francesco Rota as art director since 2022.
